Assisting a relative in need of care is a challenging task. The TU Berlin would like to support staff in caring for relatives and therefore offers advising on legal, financial, and organizational questions.
The Family Office  offers information on the
topic of reconciling career and caring for relatives, including for
acute care and long-term care.
Social Counseling  supports you in stressful care situations. Here you can also get information and the possibility to get a referral to another counseling office.
The Human Resource Development and Continuing Education Department offers you continuing education courses on the topics of health and family, caring for relatives, and reconciling care and career, e.g. on dealing with relatives suffering from dementia.
The human resource team  will inform you about legal regulations  related to your employment relationship.
The Care Support Centers (Pflegestützpunkte) in Berlin give advice on the telephone and in the Centers in the Berlin districts to people in need of care and those caring for them on topics such as legal rights, funding possibilities, and changing an apartment for the needs of the person being cared for.
On the internet portal pflegen-und-leben.de, besides the possibility to receive anonymous and free advice online, there is also an “emergency suitcase” with ideas for how to find ways to become calm in extreme care situations.
